Charity Styled shoot for G.O.S.H.

June 27, 2017

It's always fun to do different things in my job. I recently got asked if I would help style a charity photoshoot in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, I checked my diary expecting to be busy but I had kept the date free as it was my mums birthday which had ended up with just dinner plans later so I was free to go and get creative!

I turned up to the location, Studio Six, in the Essex countryside, a great little photographic studio with room for styling. I met up with friends and fellow stylists Jennie Galgey  and Clarissa Clary.

There was basically non stop chatting, laughing and fun all morning, our models arrived for styling, I styled two models, Nicola and Chloe, Chloe had half blonde, half red hair and was perfect for a vintage themed style.  With hair styled Clarissa worked her magic with her make-up. Chloe wore some vintage style underware for her shoot.

Nicola was next to be styled. Nicola had dark mid length hair, I had brought my massive supply of clip-in hair extensions and decided to add Nicola's dark brown colour plus some blonde and light brown pieces to, this made the hair longer and thicker. I wanted to do somthing a bit different so decided on an oversized mohawk braid entertwined with ribbon and lace (which I'd also packed!)

I pretty much have a 'Mary Poppins' bag! Prepared for any eventuality! ;)

Nicola had brought various outfits and chose a cream dress to show off her dark mane of hair. Then changed into a black dress where I changed the style to textured , volumized curls.

So the idea was professional and amateur photographers came along and paid a fee for charity to use the facilities and photograph the models with various backdrops and props supplied by Studio Six.

I lost count how many photographers walked through the door. The models all eventually had a quick change into the GOSH T-shirts for a charity pose. I managed to get a few shots then it was time to pack up and get ready for my mums birthday dinner with my family........Fab day,.Life of a stylist!
